This Privacy Policy explains how Bariwala ("Bariwala", "we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Bariwala property & rental management application (package com.bariwala.bariwala_app) and related services at dev.bari-wala.com.

Bariwala is a business tool for landlords and property managers. Much of the data in the App is entered by the account owner about their own tenants, staff, and properties. If you are such a person and want your information removed, please contact the landlord/company that added you, or us at the address below.

We do not use the App to serve third-party ads, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Device permissions

• Camera — only to capture a photo/receipt when you tap to add one.
• Notifications — to deliver reminders and updates via push.
• Biometric — optional fingerprint/face unlock; the biometric itself stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• Internet — to sync with our servers over a secure connection.

4. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the App's features.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Send transactional messages (e.g., rent reminders/SMS to tenants that you initiate, and push notifications).
• Process payments for SMS credits and subscriptions.
• Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing & third parties

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• SMS gateway providers — to deliver SMS you send to tenants (recipient number & message).
• Payment provider (bKash) — to process payments you make in the App.
• Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging) — to deliver push notifications (uses a device token).
• Hosting/infrastructure providers — to store and serve data on our behalf.
• Legal — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

6. Data security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Authentication tokens are stored in the device's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data; however, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Data retention

We retain account and business data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion (see below).

8. Your rights & deleting your account

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to close your account, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time. Deleting your account removes your personal account data; some records may be retained where required by law.

9. Children

Bariwala is intended for business use by adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International use

The App is operated for the Bangladesh market. By using it, you understand your information is processed on servers that may be located in or outside your country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision; material changes will be communicated in-app or on our website.
